About
NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies is a research laboratory within the Earth Sciences Division of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, affiliated with Columbia University. Established in 1961, GISS conducts interdisciplinary research and theoretical studies of global change, atmospheric modeling, climate impacts, paleoclimate, and planetary habitability combining space-based observations and Earth system models.

ModelE
ModelE is a coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation modeling framework developed by NASA GISS. It provides flexible Earth system modeling capabilities, including simulations of atmospheric chemistry, aerosol interactions, carbon cycle dynamics, sea ice, and land surface processes for assessing climate sensitivity and historical to future climate scenarios.
ROCKE-3D
ROCKE-3D (Resolving Orbital and Climate Keys of Earth and Extraterrestrial Environments with Dynamics) is a three-dimensional coupled atmosphere, land, and ocean general circulation model derived from ModelE. It simulates the climates of rocky planets across the solar system and theorized exoplanets to characterize surface habitability and generate synthetic spectra.
Panoply
Panoply is a cross-platform Java desktop application designed to visualize and plot geo-referenced and multidimensional scientific arrays from netCDF, HDF, GRIB, and other dataset formats. It supports over 200 map projections, color contour generation, variable slicing, array arithmetic, and remote catalog exploration.
